Our Work - In Situ
We are proud to have pieces on permanent display or sold to private collectors all over the world. Sometimes, it is hard to imagine how an abstract sculpture may look in your own home. With the agreement of the owners, some examples are available to see below.
Sun Lens
On permanent display in Kieloniemi to the North Of Fiskars Village in Southern Finland.
Sun lens is a site-specific sculpture created as part of Adam’s Elements Series.
Adam wanted to create a sculpture that resonates with the same positivity that the sun, light and warmth have always provided humans.
Since the dawn of existence, we have collectively hoped for a positive and bountiful future. The current global environmental, political and social climates give a renewed strength to the need for hope.
The piece aligns with, focuses on and frames the sunrise on the summer solstice.
Sun lens was partially inspired by Nancy Holt’s sun tunnels
As part of a longer-term project, Adam would create additional similar sculptures to imitate the idea of a small ancient community collectively looking towards the sunrise/future/hope.
Water #3
On permanent display in the heart of Fiskars Village in Southern Finland.
Water #3 was created as a site-specific installation as part of his Elements Series. It intentionally relates to and interacts with its direct surroundings. Created from a piece of Finnish Elm, the tree had already been lopped and was due to be cut into lumber, Adam knew from the first time he saw the remains of the tree that he wanted to carve it into something that emulates the river that it is located next to.
The project was completed in partnership with Bosch Professional Tools
Simplicity #8 - LUNAR
Purchased by Atmosphere Resorts & Spa in 2020 as a location-specific piece for Breeze Restaurant.
The moon rises directly in front of the restaurant each night. Adam was inspired to create a piece that was influenced by the lunar cycle. During the inception of the project, Adam was approached to buy a tree that had fallen down before it was cut up for firewood. Having purchased the tree in its entirety, he sought to give it a second life and celebrate its beauty but creating sculptures with it.
The wall was 8.5m x 3.5m so it was important to ensure that the installation was sensitive to its environment.
Wall Carving #13
Sold to a private collector in Laguna Beach, CA in USA.
Made from a salvaged piece of Philippine Eucalyptus, Adam wanted to create the finale for the Wall Carving Series. The series was the source of early success and remains as a fond body of work.
